INFO

Ladies and gentlemen,

FAI2018 is a unique event, an opportunity to exchange experiences of the specialists treating patients with hip joint problems. In recent years there has been an increasing interest in the femoroacetabular impingement. It is considered to be the prevalent cause of development of osteoarthritis of the hip joint.

I wish you a pleasant and scientifically rewarding stay in Torun!

Femoroacetabular Impingement was considered to be a largely idiopathic disease for many years.
Many of the etiology issues remain unexplained, but the development of imaging and arthroscopic techniques has made it possible to better understand the problem of FAI.
In many patients with FAI congestive heart disease, coxarthrosis develops.

Serious diseases of hip joint, like Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease or lipped capital femoral epiphysis, can cause derivative Femoroacetabular Impingement. We observe deformations based on these hip joint diseases and now we can treat them successfully.
